Miles Austin and the Austin Family Foundation donate $20,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Miles Austin and his family recently formed the Austin Family Foundation.  On June 27, 2011 they hosted the first Austin Family Golf Outing at the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, NJ.  The Event raised almost $70,000 and as a result the Austin Family Foundation is donating $20,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garfield to support teen programming at the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield.

Miles and his sister Jen both worked at and were members of the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield and therefore understand and value the importance of the Club to teens and the children in general in communities like Garfield.  The Boys & Girls Club of Garfield focuses on making an impact on children in the areas of Academic Success, Health Living, Character & Citizenship.  These impact areas align well with the Austin Family Foundation and the mission to support and promote youth programming, in lower income areas, that focuses on character development and community involvement.

The Austin Family Foundation Inc. was founded by Miles Austin III. Miles Austin III is currently a wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys. He enlisted the help of his family to start a foundation that will work towards helping local youth develop the character and skills needed to become successful adults.    The Austin family feels blessed to be able to give back to local communities in this capacity.
