The Garfield Junior Boilermakers have begun preparation for their second season under the Boys and Girls Club of Garfield banner. Adding to the excitement The Junior Boilermakers will have their first season in the Bergen Passaic Youth Football League (BPYFL).
This new league comprised of Wyckoff, Ridgewood Communities, Wayne Boys Club, Wayne PAL, Boys and Girls Club of Garfield, Paramus, and Dumont is designed to place a very high emphasis on educating players about the importance of teamwork and learning how to succeed as part of a team rather than as individuals. “Every programs first priority is the safety of our players but our main goal is to make participation in this league a valuable learning experience for all players, parents, and coaches alike,” states Jim Miller, the Director of the GJB.
The league is designed to ensure competitiveness within the communities while maximizing the fun had by the children participating and consists of both small and large divisions. Comprising the Large Division are Wyckoff, Ridgewood, Wayne Boys and Girls Club, Wayne PAL, and new charter member Paramus.
Competing in the Small Division are the Wyckoff, Ridgewood, Wayne PAL, Wayne Boys and Girls Club B Teams, Boys and Girls Club of Garfield, and new charter member Dumont.
Each division will have post-season playoffs, culminating in a Super Bowl.
Registration for the GJB, takes place, Monday through Friday from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the Boys and Girls Club of Garfield on 490 Midland Ave in Garfield.
Although no funds are required immediately upon registration, charges for the first registered child are $100, in addition to a $35 club membership fee. Each additional child will be charged $90 to register, along with a $25 club membership fee.
All fees must be paid in full, prior to the first practice. A discount is being offered for individuals who register and pay in full prior to June 1st.
The child must be with the parent or guardian at the time of registration and Applicants must bring their Birth Certificate.
Enrollment in all club sponsored camps and clinics including the Justin Tuck Football Camp will be determined by the timing of registration and organizers and coaches are encouraging kids to sign up as soon as possible.
