Teen Programs

Keystone Club

Keystone Club is the premiere program for teens offered by Boys & Girls Clubs. It is a character and leadership development experience that provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of an adult advisor, Keystone Clubs aim to have a positive impact on members, the club and community. The Diverse Teens of Garfield Keystone Club has been a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield programming for over 10 years. Past projects include Relay for Life, Walk MS, GIS community asset mapping, gardening, as well as various projects at the Boys & Girls Club. Each year, the Diverse Teens of Garfield sends teens representatives to Regional and National Keystone Conferences.

Outside These Walls

Outside These Walls is a year round program that gives teens ages 13-18 opportunities to experience programs, trips, and activities that they would not experience in their daily life. Programs include bringing in Entertainment or Artist to expose teens to different cultural and social experiences. These trips will expose the teens of Garfield to a variety of opportunities throughout the year. By doing all of this we are not only better preparing our teen members for life after high school but raising their expectations and standards for achieving greatness. Through this program, community teens have attended NBA, MLS, WNBA, and college basketball games; toured Yankee Stadium; visited the Pepsi factory; and gone hiking and camping.
